Key Projects:

  • An ATM Channel Reconciliation System (iJournal), for proactive fraud management and detection of potentially disputed or faulty transactions b/w the ATM, middleware-switch and banking host.
  • A real-time system monitoring & decision support system (iWatch) through Windows Management Instrumentation & SNMP. The product is deployed at more than 20 Financial Institutions in EMEA.
  • A Remote Administration / Command Execution Tool with Remote agent installation of applications.
  • A prototype for Biometrics over ATM's integrated with the middleware.
  • e-Ticketing on SSTs for PIA with cash acceptance, Middleware interfaces and backend (SABRE) communication.
  • A real-time http, ftp, IDS log analyzer with a WebUI and customized reports for forensic analysis.
  • Customization, Enhancement, and Solution integration of an OCRM with an IVR, Middleware and Source System within a Call Centre environment. (Central Depository Company)

International Deployments:

  • Deployed a monitoring solution over the ATM network at Union National Bank Head Office (UAE). [ Jan 2006 ]
  • Represented NCR Pakistan FSG in NCR Dubai Road Show [ September, 2005 ].

Major Academic Projects :

  • [ Final Year Project ] IP Call Recorder - An open source IP call recorder with packet sniffer and SIP / RTP protocol analyzer. Also developed a CTI Server on top of asterisks. (Java, MySQL, libpcap, asterisks).
  • Code and Documentation available at wiserecorder.sourceforge.net.
  • [ Software Engineering II ] Model Based [system] Architecting and Software Engineering [ MBASE ] - Term paper.
  • [ Network Security ] Deployed a HoneyNet (ROO), NIDS (Snort) & Firewall (IPTables) as a study project.
  • [ Computer Networks ] Project WISA - A P2P File Sharing System with a central server. (Java).
  • [ Network Programming ] Front ends of some application layer protocols (Traceroute, NNTP, FTP, NTP)
  • WIT [ Wise IP Tracer ] - Country information retrieval from IP address and UDP traceroute. (C#, Perl).
  • [ Data Structures ] The Escape - A 2.5D Action/ Strategy game developed using DirectX. (VC++, DirectX).
  • [ Operating Systems ] The FAST VM - An OS simulation as a Virtual Machine. (C++, Assembly).
  • [ Assembly Programming ] Wise DiskDoctor - FAT formatter, tools for individual disk sectors IO & disk encryption.
  • [ Database Systems ] TnM Transport Service - Simulation Project for a fictional transport company. (Java, Oracle).
  • Helped developing and setting up an open source Linux lab at the university campus from old scrapped PCs.

Freelance Projects:

  • BRITO [ Content Management System ] [ C#, ASP.NET, Crystal Reports, SQLServer, Flash ].
  • OAT [ Oracle Auditing Tool ] - A POC pen-test tool. Exploits some of the known vulnerabilities of Oracle. Includes SID Enumeration, Passwords tests [common/ dictionary]. I’m doing a reearch on SSL protocol using NS-2 simulator as tool to investigate, Brother i need some help cause i’m no familier with NS-2 or opnet or omnet etc.

Hello Tariq!
I am waqar, and these days i am exploring Java card STK, i needed a little guaidance in java cards, and as i beleave you are the expert :) i have developed a java card applet which gives me MNC,MCC, cell id of the cell fone, now i want it to give me some tecknikal info like rx-value (signal strength), NMR, Timing advance,… i tried AT commands but they dont work on a simulator… :( ….ma boss is gona kick me out..if i will b unable to complete the task…haha haha..
